The evaluation was what i finished this project with. for the evaluation itself i had to answer 7 questions on several platforms, including Powerpoint, Photoshop, Prezi and Powtoon. i was used to using Photoshop and Powerpoint however the other two were unfamiliar to me and i had a bit of difficulty getting them to look good. but overall i am glad that the evaluation is over and i am pleased with how everything turned out.
This is my final outcome of double page spread for my music magazine. i had fun making this but the hardest part was the typography and the layout of it. tried to keep it close to my original drafts, but i decided that one picture looked better than four . i found making the background the hardest because it was something i have never done before and getting assistance from fellow classmates really helped me and now i know know to combine to backgrounds into one, and make it look more authentic and professional. overall i found making the double page spread was the funnest out of all of them as this one challenged me in making something amazing and i think i have accomplished that.
Over the past week i have been working on my contents page, and this is my final product. i kept the same colour scheme that i stablished on my front cover which was mainly blue, and black, this was to maintain the continuity. during the making of this page i constantly referred back to my original drawn drafts and digital drafts, but i had some issues with the arrangement of the picture, they did't look that good when they were overlapped in the way i wanted it to look when i drew up m drafts, and it made it look way too thrown together and messy. in general i am pretty pleased with the outcome.
This is my front cover for my magazine, it took me about a week to create it and i am pretty happy with the outcome. A couple of things i would improve on would be the sizing of the text which was quite bothersome as some of my classmates when i was creating it said that it was too big and other said it was too small. but over i think that the outcome was great and it is very aseptically pleasing to look at and Im happy with it.
Before the Christmas break i was able to take some on on-site photos of some people in my class, i took a couple group photos but mainly focused on incorporating the psychedelic feel into the picture. one problem i do ave though is that a majority of the pictures i took where of the same person, and i thought that we could use the same person on the front cover and the double but i guess i was wrong. Over the Christmas break, me and my friend went around looking for cool backgrounds to use which allows me to make the main image stand out, i defiantly am going to one of them images for my double page spread or front page. Up to now everything has been going somewhat smoothly, however i need to get some more photos so that i am able to have a wide range of high quality of photos to choose from.
Today i worked on photoshop, to further visualise my magazine layout for my front cover, contents and double pages. so far i have had to change my initial idea of my front cover. The idea i had was to have the masthead down the side of one of my options, but apparently that is too creative and i would lose marks if i went further with it. i want my magazine to be different but i don't want to lose lots of marks for being very creative and coming u with unique stuff that would drop me marks. hopefully by next week i'll have my drafts done to a standard where i love them and they get good marks.
The deadline for our planning segment is the 18th of december. i need to upload images of front covers, contents pages and double pages for my magazine aesthetics. i also have search for poses and props that are commonly seen in the hip-hop/rap genre. including things such as snapbacks, headphones, and sunglasses. i will have this done as soon as possible but so far it hasn't been that hard to find images that i really like and i feel captures my preference and likes.
so today i spent the majority of the lesson going over my textual analysis correcting any spelling mistakes and making sure i linked everything back to my genre of music. i used a checklist sheet that had everything that needs to be done by the deadline of monday. i need to add more description of the typography in my textual analysis'. hopefully i can meet the deadline which has been moved but until then i will continue to make minor changes to get my work up to a good level.
i have started to create a my mood board that is based of the hip-hop and rap genre. So far i have made it a bit to character based by putting too many famous hip-hop/rap artist, so i need to tone that done a bit. I have began to modify my images and feather the edges as well as crop them so that they all coexist on my board. i think that i will add more brands that are usually linked to the hip-hop/rap genre.
For this section of our research we had to ask people including friends and family a series of questions relating to our magazine. i asked a total of 20 questions, 10 for my front cover. 5 for my contents and another 5 for my double page. i used 2 social networks which where facebook messenger and whatsapp to reach out to the people i asked.i found this task very interesting because of how my everyone would react to the questions. with the information i collected i discovered that a lot of people are willing to read a magazine with a more aesthetically pleasing cover, with less cover lines and more of a simplistic cover that is both bold yet subtle. the majority of those i asked preferred the magazine to be called The Music Office (TMO for short). with this data i will hopefully craft a magazine that is stylish but not over complicated that people will but for a reasonable price.
