In today's lesson we started to do our audience profiles, we have to do one male and one female profile for the perfect reader of our magazine because the genre of music that my coursework is based on hip-hop and rap genre, i have to do 2 profile of people who are most likely going to read my magazine. As a result of this i am doing young adults aged 18-25, this is because i think they are my target audience. i think that this should be remotely easy because i could just write my own interest to make it more accurate and fabricate the rest of the information to make it sound more believable. I think the hardest part will be finding images to suite my profiles. i made the pfiles pretty simple, like including their favorite artist and what they do in general.
Today we started to make our convention diagrams we used photoshop to do this and so far i have used the blue tool in the background and the type tool for the titles. I still find photoshop quite complicated to use but i am teaching myself everyday and trying to get better with it. i basically have to annotate my images of a cover, contents and double page by using correct terminology and a brief definition for each one. I think this will be reasonably easy for me to do, and this task will give me a bit more time to learn how to use different tool and filters on photoshop.
In today's coursework lesson i worked a bit more on my textual analyses' of my two cover pages and two double pages. At first it was moderately easy with my first cover of Kendrick Lamar, but going on to my double of Katy Perry i found it a bit more difficult because there was so much to say but i didn't have the right terminology to phase it. o think that i will attempt to finish my covers firsts then after that do the doubles, i think this will work better for me because i'll have more time to think about what i want to say.
So far i have recreated an already existing magazine and create my own college magazine using photoshop. I have also learnt about different camera angles, framing and shot. We had a chance to make short informative videos introducing and showing the camera angles, shot and frames. I have had the chance to use the professional canon 550D camera to take images for my college magazine. Overall up until now i haven't found anything too challenging however i am learning a lot of new stuff to implement when i'm doing projects.
Today using Photoshop and looking at an existing magazine cover, i was able to re-create in myself using mostly the type tool and keeping it as close to the original as possible. i have used photoshop in the past but this was my first time using the type tool to crop a magazine. i found that this task was quite simplistic and easy, and i was able to even help some of my classmates with the technically issues if it was necessary. i started off slow but i was soon able to use the programme much better than i have in the past, linking layers to make it less easy to separate some of the graphics. Overall i'm pleased with the outcome and i am anticipating using photoshop for my own magazine cover.
Today is my first ever coursework Media Studies lesson i begun to build my homepage for my site. This was slightly tricky for me at first because i didn't really know what i was going to make my page look like, however through trial and error and the help of the teacher and classmates i was able to start the basics. I think that i want this site to capture my passion for music of the current eras. Hopefully in the next few days i will have completed my homepage with GIF's and YouTube videos. So far i've made a brief bio on myself talking about what music i like, i have yet to upload some images of my favourite artist and in real life for some songs i like off of YouTube. I also need to insert a picture of myself to make this site a bit more personal.
